Emergency First Aid at Work

Introduction


Upon successful completion of the course each candidate will be awarded
an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate which will be valid for three years from the date of issue.

  • Dealing with an Emergency
  • Causes and Treatment of the Unconscious Casualty

How long will this course take?

This course involves at least 6 hours of training and is run over one day.


Will I get a recognised First Aid certificate?

At the end of the course, you will get a certificate issued by an Oqual Regulated Centre. The certificate is valid for three years.


Do I need to requalify after three years?

Before their certificates expire, first-aiders will need to undertake an EFAW course to obtain another three-year certificate.


Do I have to undertake an annual refresher training?

HSE strongly recommends that first-aiders undertake annual refresher training, This will help qualified first-aiders maintain their basic skills and keep up to date with any changes to first-aid procedures.
